A Workshop about Sustainable Development in Control and Systems Engineering Department

Under the patronage of the President of University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghaban, Control and Systems Engineering Department held a workshop entitled (Sustainable Development is a Requirement of Nature) in cooperation with the Scientific and Engineering Consulting Office, the Historic Preservation Technology Unit, and AlIraqia huna team in the conference hall in the presence of the Prime Minister's Advisor for Civil Society Organizations, Ms. Sarah Ayad Allawi, and President Assistant of Administrative Affairs , Prof. Dr. Farhad Muhammad, and a large number of Lecturers and students of the university.

The workshop began with a welcoming speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Azad Rahim, Head of the Department, where he welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts of those in charge of the workshop for its great importance and urgent necessity for our local environment. After that, he invited the attendees to open an exhibition of scientific products of devices manufactured in the department that have applications in the field of sustainable development and another exhibition of artistic works designed by the department's members. Then the workshop pivots began, which consisted of:

- A lecture about the university's achievement of sustainable development goals delivered by Dr. Venus Suleiman, Head of the Historic Preservation Technology Unit at the university.

- Environmental activist and Dr. (Amani Ibrahim) spoke about the role of the citizen in promoting environmental behaviors.

- Professor (Amina Al-Khatib) addressed healthy nutrition and its relationship to the environment in her lectures.

- Engineer (Rana Jalil), one of the university's creative graduates in this field, spoke about environmentally friendly candles and their benefits.

- The department's activities were also presented within the tree planting campaigns launched by the honorable Prime Minister with the Dora Municipality and the benefits of these campaigns for the environment, presented by Engineer (Zahraa Mu'ayyad from the Dora Municipality).

- The workshop was managed by Professor Dr. Hazem Ibrahim, the prime administrative in the department.

- The workshop witnessed the honoring of the participants in its pivots presented by Dr. Azad Rahim, and then the attendees headed to the university gardens to participate in a tree planting campaign sponsored by Dora Municipality to ening the important activity.
