The University of Technology achieves an advanced position in the British Times World University Rankings in Multidisciplinary Sciences 2025
The University of Technology achieved a distinguished position by obtaining the rank (301-350) globally in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Ranking for 2025 out of (749) universities from (92) countries around the world. The university also came in second place locally, jointly with the University of Babylon and the University of the Future, reflecting its commitment to promoting interdisciplinary scientific research.
Classification criteria
The classification was based on 11 main indicators distributed over three main areas representing the life cycle of interdisciplinary research projects:
First: Inputs
– The amount of funding allocated to research projects.
– The availability of facilities and infrastructure necessary to support research.
Second: Processes
– The successes of research projects and their applications.
– Administrative support and promotion of interdisciplinary research.
Third: Outputs
– The quality and quantity of research publications.
– Research impact through citations.
– Academic and institutional reputation.
Ranking Data
The rankings were based on a comprehensive analysis that includes:
– 157 million scientific citations for 18 million research publications.
– Opinion surveys for more than 20,000 scientists worldwide.
This ranking confirms the University of Technology’s commitment to developing scientific research and enhancing its position as a prominent educational institution at the national and global levels. It also reflects the increasing cooperation between Iraqi universities to advance various research fields.
