Materials Engineering Department receives an engineering delegation from the Building Research Department

The Head of the Materials Engineering Department at the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Jawad Kazim Aliwi, received an engineering delegation representing the Building Research Department, which is one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the General Materials Engineering Branch, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Jalal Daoud, and the Director of Laboratories, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khaled Khadir Abbas in the department, and the visiting delegation was represented by Senior Chief Engineer Zeina Faisal Khadir.

This visit comes in activation of the joint cooperation memorandum with the University of Technology earlier this year.

The meeting included the possibility of developing construction materials to improve their properties and study their mechanical, physical and chemical properties. During the visit, a field tour was conducted to the department’s specialized laboratories to see the work of the engineers and learn about what is available in the laboratories and how to conduct laboratory trade.

The visit concluded with the delegation expressing its desire to cooperate with the department and benefit from its expertise to develop and expand the horizons of joint cooperation.
