Environmental Research Center receive a delegation from Al-Mashreq University

The Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology received a delegation of lecturers and students from the Department of Medical Physics – College of Health and Medical Technologies / Al-Mashreq Private University, under the supervision of Lec. Dr. Issam Ahmed Tawfiq and 11 of Senior morning study. The Head of the Environmental Pollution Department, Lec. Dr. Mukhallad Amer Hussein, and Lec. Dr. Iman Shaker Awad received the delegation.

The visit included field rounds, scientific benefits, and familiarization with the tests and devices at the center related to the nature of their work concerning their graduation project on gaseous emissions resulting from the operation of electric generators in specific areas of Baghdad.

In turn, the Head of the Pollution Department gave an introductory briefing covering the establishment of the center, the scientific and administrative structure, and the tasks carried out regarding research, studies, activities, and events related to the local and global environment. He gave a detailed explanation of environmental pollution in terms of causes, effects, and treatment methods in general, and concerning gaseous pollutants in particular, since they are the goal of the visit.

The visiting delegation was accompanied to the laboratories operating in the Environmental Technology Department and then the Environmental Pollution Department. The staff responsible for these laboratories explained the nature of their work in terms of their ability to conduct laboratory tests related to the environment. Lec. Assist. Taleb Kamel gave an introductory lecture about the devices available in the air pollution laboratory that are used to assess air quality.

The students expressed their great admiration for what they saw and heard and interacted in investing this visit and benefiting from the available experience by asking many questions and inquiries related to their graduation project in both theoretical and practical aspects.
