Computer Science Department Organizes Workshop on Scourge of Drugs and Phenomenon of Addiction

The Guidance Committee in the Artificial Intelligence Branch of the Computer Science Department at the University of Technology organized a workshop on the scourge of drugs and the phenomenon of addiction and its impact on young people, in the presence of the head of the Artificial Intelligence Branch, Dr. Dina Kazem, the Director of Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations in the Department, Dr. Anmar Ali, and members of the educational guidance committees in the hall of the late Dr. Imad Kazem.

The lecture, given by Assistant Professor Dr. Suhad Mal Allah Kazem, aimed to introduce drugs as harmful substances that affect the human body and its psychological health and cause hallucinations and increase the risk of suicide.

The lecture explained the reasons for drug use, such as escaping from reality, psychological pressures, bad friends, and methods of preventing the scourge of drugs, and how to diagnose an addict, and called on young people to be careful and not to take medicines randomly and to encourage the involvement of young people in sports activities and the need for parents to monitor their children.

The lecturer was awarded a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her efforts in delivering the lecture.
