The Computer Science Department celebrates International Women’s Day

Under the patronage of the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, organized a celebration on the occasion of International Women’s Day, held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Late Dr. Imad Kazem Hall. The event was attended by female faculty members, staff, and students.

The Head of the Department began by congratulating the attendees on this occasion, expressing his pride and appreciation for the contributions of women in society in general, and specifically within the department.

The celebration included a workshop titled “International Women’s Day: Between the Past and Present,” presented by the Director of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, Assistant Prof. Dr. Suhair Mohamed Zaki.

At the end of the celebration, the Head of the Department presented certificates of appreciation to the outstanding nominees from the department in recognition of International Women’s Day. These included:For female faculty: Lecturer Sara Jassim, For staff: Manager Faten Fakher Jweid, For postgraduate students: Ph.D. student Tania Abdul Sattar,and For undergraduate students: Student Lanna Abdul Razzaq Shaker, from the Network Administration branch.
