The Department of Electrical Engineering organizes a workshop on Human Rights

The Human Rights Unit in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology, in collaboration with the Iraqi Here Voluntary Team, organized an awareness workshop on human rights under the title:

“No to Bullying… No to Abuse.”

The event was attended by the University’s Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Osman Mohammed, the department head, Assistant Professor Dr. Jabar Khalaf Mohammed, as well as the department’s scientific and administrative assistants, many faculty members, staff, and students from the department, at the Al-Furat Hall in the department.

The workshop began with a welcoming speech delivered by the department head, followed by presentations from the speakers, who discussed the negative aspects of bullying and discrimination, and how to eliminate them to ensure the rights of all segments of society to live with dignity, access educational opportunities, and harness the energy of youth for the service of the country.

The workshop, chaired by Professor Dr. Hazem Al-Shammari, included several key topics, with lectures given by media figure Haidar Al-Basir, Director of the Mumezoun Foundation for People with Determination, Shaima Al-Hashemi, Captain Saja Al-Abaychi from the General Traffic Directorate, and Mrs. Janan Abdul Karim, a stuttering therapist and founder of the “Tanafus” platform.

At the end of the event, the department head presented certificates of appreciation to the speakers, commending the efforts of the workshop organizers, including Eng. Shaima Behzad Ramadan, Head of the Human Rights Unit, and Eng. Rasha Bassem Zaki.
