The Environmental Research Center participates in National Forestation Day

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and under the guidance and supervision of the Director of the Environmental Research Center, Professor Dr. Zeinab Bahaa Mohammed, the center’s staff, including faculty members and administrators, participated in National Arbor Day. The event was attended by the university’s vice presidents for scientific affairs and postgraduate studies, Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, and administrative affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Osman, as well as the ministerial committee and the voluntary team from the Ministry of Environment.

The participation included the planting of a large number of saplings in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, which were planted in the university’s gardens. Awareness posters were also distributed about the importance of afforestation and the types of trees that should be planted to suit Iraq’s environment.

The university president praised the active participation of the center, emphasizing the importance of contributing to environmental conservation and creating a healthy climate as part of the sustainable development goals.
