Nanotechnology Research Center Holds a Lecture on the Importance of Afforestation in Achieving Environmental Balance

As part of the activities commemorating the Iraqi National Afforestation Day, the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Centre held a lecture entitled: “The Importance of Afforestation in Achieving Environmental Balance,” attended by the Director of the Centre, Professor Dr. Rana Afif Majeed, and a number of the centre’s staff.

The lecture, delivered by Assistant Engineer Huda Abbas Zaidan, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of afforestation and green spaces, their role in preserving the environment, and improving the quality of life, in addition to the importance of plants from a religious and scientific perspective, and to emphasize the importance of concerted efforts to preserve green spaces due to their significant role in achieving environmental balance.

The lecturer recommended the necessity of intensifying awareness campaigns on the importance of afforestation. The lecture also contributed to promoting a culture of afforestation in society and encouraging individuals to participate in environmental conservation efforts.

The Director of the Nanotechnology Research Centre presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her efforts in delivering this awareness workshop.
