The Department of Computer Science Organizes a Lecture on the Rights of Persons with Special Needs

Under the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, the Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division, organized a lecture on the rights of persons with special needs on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in the hall of the late Dr. Imad Kadhim. The lecture was delivered by Asst.Lect. Hanin Rashid Majeed.

The workshop addressed the rights guaranteed by Iraqi law to persons with special needs. The law calls for the care of persons with disabilities, the elimination of discrimination, the creation of job opportunities for them, respect for disability and its consideration as part of human diversity, and guarantees their right to education and rehabilitation for integration into society.

It also emphasizes maintaining their safety in health insurance and check-ups within medical centres, providing support for persons with disabilities from their employed family members, and their right to undergo surgical operations outside Iraq.
