Electrical Engineering Department Organizes Field Activity for the Emergency, Civil Defence, and Crisis Management Plan

The Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Technology successfully organized a field activity for the professional safety emergency plan, civil defence procedures, and crisis management, which included: (evacuation process, fire extinguishing, and first aid).

The activity, in which the department’s faculty, staff, and students participated, involved a simulation of extinguishing a controlled fire with rising flames and smoke, the complete evacuation of the department building, as well as the transfer of injured individuals to an ambulance as practical training.

This activity was preceded by a series of awareness lectures and workshops for faculty, staff, and students on emergency procedures to confront potential hazards, along with establishing clear procedures for evacuation and assembly at safe points, defining the responsibilities of emergency teams within the department, equipping emergency communication tools and an alarm bell to initiate the evacuation process, installing directional signs for evacuation routes and assembly points, and ensuring the availability and validity of all emergency equipment and fire extinguishers, as well as how to handle them.

This activity aims to enhance and spread the culture of safety and fire prevention, protect individuals and property, and evaluate the speed of response in crisis situations.
