Laser Engineering Department organizes lecture on scientific projects
On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the University of Technology, the Department of Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics organized an awareness lecture entitled (The Importance of Scientific Projects in Raising the Academic and Creative Level of Students). The lecture was delivered by Dr. Taif A’ed Faisal, Head of the Information Technology Division, and was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students.
The lecture highlighted the importance of projects and the optimal ways to learn from them to increase the level of knowledge and creativity and expand research horizons. Projects provide an opportunity to move beyond the academic lecture style and enter the job market by developing the necessary skills in the project, such as using general programs like Microsoft Office suite, specialized programs like MATLAB, Solid Works, and COMSOL, and utilizing modern search techniques on global search engines to extract accurate information from various scientific sources such as books, articles, and journals.
The lecture also touched upon the importance of the English language in raising the level of projects and formulating them optimally, as well as the role of programming and its application methods in projects, and the significance of programming as a required skill in the job market.
