
Computer Science Department organizes a lecture on cybercrime in the age of artificial intelligence.
On the occasion of the golden jubilee of the 50th anniversary of University of Technology founding, Computer Science Department organized a lecture on cybercrime in the age of artificial intelligence. The lecture attended by the head the Department Prof. Dr. Alaa Kahdim Farhan.
The lecture, delivered by Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Jabbar, Director of Communications and Information Systems at the Ministry of Interior, defined cybercrime as a criminal activity targeting a computer network. The attempt to exploit the network is made by thieves or professionals, with the goal of harming computers. It can also be perpetrated by individuals or organizations.
The lecturer addressed the types of cybercrime in the age of artificial intelligence, including email fraud, identity theft, electronic blackmail, ransomware, and the sale of illicit goods. Crime has increased and it is difficult to identify the criminal.
