Department of Production Engineering Wins the President’s Cup for Faculty Football

The faculty team from the Department of Production and Metallurgy Engineering won the President’s Cup for Faculty Football for the University of Technology for the ninth consecutive time, defeating the Department of Biomedical Engineering 1-0 in the final match held at the university stadium. The match was attended by the Assistant President of Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Farhad Muhammad Othman; the Head of the Production Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Muhammad Hussein Al-Khafaji; and the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Sadiq Hussein Bakhi; and a number of university faculty members.

The winning goal for the Department of Production and Metallurgy Engineering was scored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Adel Shabib Jaber, who won top scorer of the tournament award.

At the conclusion of the competition, Assistant President of Administrative Affairs distributed medals to Production and Metallurgy Engineering the winning team, Biomedical Engineering team, runner-up. Applied Sciences Department team the third-place winner. He also distributed prizes to the referees for the final match, including Asst. Lec. Hussein Sarih, Asst. Lec. Murtadha Ali, Asst. Lec. Mustafa Mahdi, and Supervisor Yasser Hassan. Honoring Lec. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Mahdi as the best goalkeeper.
