
Department of Electrical Engineering holds a workshop on the role of university competencies in community development
Under the patronage and attendance of President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Jabbar Khalaf Mohammed, Head of Electrical Engineering Department, a workshop, titled “University Competencies and Their Role in Community Development and Consolidating Basic Concepts” was held in the department’s Dijlah Hall.
The lecture, delivered by the Advisor to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for Education Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul Rahman Al-Azzawi, addressed the role of universities and their highly qualified faculty in shaping thought, producing knowledge, and building generations. These universities are the vibrant mind of society and the primary engine for guiding development toward sustainable and effective paths.
He explained that investing in these competencies and stimulating a supportive university environment represents an effective investment toward a sustainable future and by their scientific contributions in education, scientific research, and community service, solutions, plans, and strategies are formulated in various fields.
At the end of the lecture, the floor was opened for discussion, ideas and comments were presented and answered. Commemorative shields and certificates of appreciation were then distributed to the lecturer and those in charge of the workshop.
