University of Technology – Iraq Ranks First Nationally and Among Top 500 in Asia in the Asia University Rankings 2025
The University of Technology – Iraq has achieved a significant global academic milestone by securing the top position among Iraqi universities and ranking in the 401–500 band across Asia in the 2025 Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings. The results were officially announced during the Asia Universities Summit held in Macau, China.
The Times Higher Education ranking is one of the most prestigious academic assessments worldwide. It evaluates universities based on 18 key indicators that reflect core aspects of academic performance, including quality of education, research environment, research influence, international outlook, and industry engagement.
This comprehensive ranking methodology is tailored specifically to reflect the priorities and contexts of Asian institutions, while remaining aligned with the global Times Higher Education framework.
This accomplishment underscores the University of Technology – Iraq’s growing prominence in research, teaching, and international collaboration, and highlights its ability to compete with leading universities across Asia.
