
Biomedical Engineering College Holds “Martyr’s Festival” in Memory of Martyr Harith Al-Sudani
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Biomedical Engineering, Professor Dr. Sadiq Hussein Bakhy, the College held a commemorative event titled “Martyr’s Festival” in memory of the martyr Captain Harith Al-Sudani. The event was attended by the University’s Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman, the martyr’s family, a number of deans, faculty members, university staff, and students.
The festival began with the playing of the national anthem, a recitation from the Holy Quran, and the reading of Al-Fatiha in tribute to Iraq’s noble martyrs. The Assistant President delivered a speech emphasizing that commemorating the heroic martyr Harith Al-Sudani reflects the values of sacrifice and selflessness for the dignity of Iraq. He noted that the blood of martyrs builds nations and secures peace, and without their sacrifices, the voice of truth would not prevail.
The Dean of the College also addressed the audience, affirming that every day of peace in Iraq is a day dedicated to its martyrs. He praised martyr Harith Al-Sudani as a symbol of patriotism and a source of inspiration for future generations. The festival featured a short video highlighting the bravery of Iraqi martyrs, followed by poetic performances celebrating their sacrifices.
The event concluded with the presentation of honorary shields to the family of martyr Harith Al-Sudani and to the families of other martyrs from the university’s faculty and staff, in recognition of their great sacrifices for the homeland.
