
Control and Systems Engineering College Organizes Workshop on Domestic Violence
The Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Control and Systems Engineering, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Technology, organized a workshop titled “Domestic Violence.” The event is part of the department’s awareness activities and was presented by Assistant Lecturer Mays Hassan Omran from the Office of the Scientific Assistant for Scientific Affairs, held at the Conference Hall.
The workshop addressed domestic violence as a serious social issue that affects many families worldwide. Domestic violence was defined as any violent or abusive behavior occurring within the family, which can take various forms, including physical, emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse.
The lecturer explained that domestic violence can affect all family members, including children, women, and men, and has severe consequences for victims’ mental and physical health, such as anxiety, depression, physical injuries, behavioral problems, and difficulties in social relationships.
She emphasized the importance of collective efforts to reduce domestic violence and protect families and communities from its harmful impacts. The session concluded with a call to raise awareness and promote societal education to create a safe and stable family environment.
