A research collaboration between the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology and the College of Engineering at the University of Iraq on building a sensor system to control pollution in chemical storage areas

As part of the scientific collaboration between the University of Technology and the University of Iraq, researcher Asst.L. Samah Faris Kamel, a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering, implemented her research project on manufacturing a sensor system designed to detect pollutants inside chemical storage areas. The system also performs a comprehensive chemical air wash to reduce the effects of chemical substances on the environment and the health of workers. This research project was part of her master’s study at the University of Iraq, supervised by Professor Dr. Riyad Sadeq Mohammed from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology and Professor Dr. Mohammed Nasser Hussein from the College of Engineering at the University of Iraq. The researcher explained that chemical storage areas are crucial in universities, and through this joint project, the goal is to achieve sustainability and environmental protection in chemical storage areas and laboratories. During his visit to the storage area, the University’s Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Osman, praised the scientific efforts and expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the implementation of this joint scientific achievement.
