Al-Gaban Signs Cooperation Memorandum with Ministry of Migration and Displaced

The University of Technology, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan al-Gaban, signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Migration and Displaced, represented by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Migration and Displaced, Dr. Karim Hussein Ali al-Nouri, On Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

The signing ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Migration and Displaced, including the Director General of the Migration Affairs Department, Dr. Safaa Hussein Ahmed, and the Director of the Neighboring Countries Division, Mr. Ibrahim Khalil Dahash. From the University, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Studies, Professor Dr. Khula Salah Khushan, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and the Director of the Department of Media and Government Communication, Dr. Sari Tahseen Rishan, were present.

The memorandum aimed to achieve a fruitful scientific cooperation between the two parties in various scientific fields, including academic, research, training, and development, leading to the development of the capacities of both institutions through the application of cooperation mechanisms.

The cooperation mechanism included several points, most notably strengthening the implementation of the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations, known as the Global Agenda, and enhancing cooperation in the academic, scientific, and information systems fields. It also involved exchanging scientific visits, holding joint seminars and conferences, as well as preparing a coordination program that includes exchanging scientific expertise among faculty members, researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Additionally, the memorandum emphasized joint supervision and discussion committees, as well as joint research projects of interest to both parties.

At the end, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Karim al-Nouri, presented a shield from the Ministry of Migration and Displaced to the President of the University of Technology in appreciation of his distinguished efforts in serving the university’s scientific mission and our beloved Iraq.
