College of Chemical Engineering Holds Lecture on Intellectual Property in the Era of Digital and Technological Transformation

The Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit at the College of Chemical Engineering organized a cultural lecture titled “Intellectual Property in the Era of Digital Transformation.”

The lecture, delivered by Dr. Saif Adel, Advisor to the President of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, provided a detailed presentation on the concept of intellectual property, emphasizing its growing cultural, economic, and social significance amid the evolving digital and technological environment.

Dr. Adel highlighted the challenges posed by rapid technological advancement, which has led to increased issues of piracy and infringements on intellectual property rights. He discussed the urgent need for effective solutions to address such violations, along with the current status and challenges of intellectual property rights in the digital age.

The lecture also covered mechanisms for protecting these rights and examined how legal frameworks are adapting to technological innovations and digital transformation.

Furthermore, the session shed light on the nature and scope of problems faced by authors in protecting their intellectual and material rights in the digital environment, particularly regarding innovations and creative works in intellectual content and industrial inventions.

At the conclusion of the lecture, the department honored Dr. Saif Adel with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his valuable contribution.
