College of Computer Science Organizes Lecture on Risk and Crisis Management in University Institutions

The College of Computer Science at the University of Technology organized a scientific lecture on “Risk and Crisis Management in University Institutions” with the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhum Farhan.

This lecture aligns with achieving Sustainable Development Goals (8, 11, and 13).

The lecturer, Assistant Professor Dr. Suhair Mohammed Zaki, defined risk management as a modern and vital approach in the business world, where the complexity and challenges facing institutions are increasing daily.

The enterprise risk management program aims to enhance companies’ competitiveness by balancing objective achievement with controlling the risks they face. This program helps analyze internal and external environments and identify potential risks.

Success in crisis management is not measured by the absence of risks but by the ability to transform threats into opportunities.

The lecture recommended the importance of risk management in universities as an urgent necessity in research, planning, and averting dangers. Therefore, a risk policy must be prepared in universities with goals to reduce losses and given importance through spreading awareness of dangers and their negative effects.

In conclusion, the Dean of the College presented the lecturer with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her efforts in delivering this lecture.
