President of University of Technology Participates in the Permanent National Committee Meeting

The president of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghabban, participated in a meeting of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance hosted by the University of Kufa in Najaf. The meeting was attended by presidents of governmental universities, representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office, and the ministries of Higher Education, Justice, Youth and Sports, Labor and Social Affairs, in addition to representatives from the Popular Mobilization Forces and religious endowments.

The meeting discussed plans and programs aimed at strengthening community security, reinforcing the national fabric, and combating phenomena foreign to Iraqi society. It also focused on utilizing the expertise of academic and research institutions and coordinating with relevant parties to support the state’s efforts in achieving social stability.

Discussions covered several key areas, including setting a clear vision and objectives for the national committee, preparing a comprehensive work plan for community awareness and guidance, and appointing deputy chairmen and representatives for the committee in all Iraqi governorates. Several recommendations were made, most notably developing curricula to enhance national identity, monitoring social media that spreads extremist ideas, continuing to hold seminars and conferences aimed at combating Takfiri thought, and organizing exchange visits between university students to enhance cultural understanding between governorates.
