Computer Science Department holds a Lecture on Fiber to the Home (FTTH)

On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebration of the 50th anniversary of University of Technology founding, Computer Science Department held a lecture on Fiber to the Home (FTTH) in the late Dr. Imad Kahdim Hall in the department building, attended by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan.

The lecture, delivered by Dr. Adnan Taher Karim, representative of Al-  Rusafa Communications Directorate at the Ministry of Communications, described (FTTH) as an advanced technology in which data is transmitted via optical pulses traveling through fibers made primarily of glass or plastic.

He highlighted its advantages, including accuracy, signal purity, and multiple services. It also reduces energy consumption and improves people’s lives.

The Head of the Department awarded the lecturer a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his efforts in delivering this lecture.
