Computer Science lecturer publishes research in scientific journal within Clarivate and Scopus containers
The lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology, prof.Dr. Rana Muhammad Hassan Zaki, published the research entitled:
Detection of Real-Time Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) Attacks on Internet of Things (IOT) Networks Using Machine learning Algorithms.
In a solid scientific journal affiliated with the Tech science press (CMC) publishing house within Clarivate and Scopus containers with the participation of researchers (Zaid Samir Mahdi and Nabaa Saeb Mahmoud) from the Information Technology Center and (Nada Aziz Abdul Hassan) from the Continuing Education Center.
The research dealt with designing a system to detect cyber-attacks (DDoS) on Internet of Things networks using machine learning algorithms.
The proposed model relies on two stages in its work: identifying the basic features and creating a detection model using the K-neighbors algorithm with two classification algorithms (logistic regression and Stochastic Gradient Descent classifier). The performance evaluation of the model showed its ability to detect intrusion on Internet of Things networks, showing improvements in accuracy and intrusion detection time.
