Department of Civil Engineering Organizes a Lecture on Smoking Addiction and the Resulting Problems

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and the supervision of the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Ali Majeed Khudir Al-Dahwi, Psychological Counseling, and Educational Guidance Unit in the Civil Engineering Department held an awareness lecture entitled “Smoking Addiction and Its Resulting Problems.”

Pharmacist Dr. Bakr Raed Jihad Daoud from Al-Mahmoudiya Hospital, affiliated with the Karkh Health Department, delivered the lecture. It was attended by Scientific Deputy Prof. Dr. Amzahem Abdul Karim Alwan, several faculty members, employees, and students in the department’s Graduate Studies Hall.

The lecture aimed to raise community awareness of the dangers of smoking, challenge misconceptions about this widespread phenomenon, encourage people to quit smoking, and spread awareness about the harms and negative impact on health, psychological, economic, social, and environmental.
