Department of General Mechanical Engineering Organizes Student Graduation Projects Festival

Under slogan of “Mechanical Engineering and Its Role in Technological Development,” the Department of General Mechanical Engineering in the College of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology organized the 16th Student Festival to showcase the work of senior students.

The festival aimed to provide students with the opportunity to present their scientific projects, reflecting their understanding of tutorial aspects and transforming them into practical solutions that keep pace with technological development and meet the needs of the local market.

The festival opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs. This was followed by speeches by the Dean of Mechanical Engineering College, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hadi Jabr, and a speech by the Head of General Mechanical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Sattar Jaber Habib.Dr. Saad Sabah Karam, Director of Al-Nafth Thermal and Environmental Systems Company, then delivered a lecture, offering valuable advice to students on the importance of acquiring the skills that qualify them to enter the labor market in both the public and private sectors.

The festival included several activities, most notably a specialized scientific session to discuss projects, in addition to organizing a scientific poster exhibition.

The submitted projects demonstrated a clear diversity of topics, covering various fields of mechanical engineering, with a focus on sustainable and innovative solutions with societal and economic impact.

This year’s participation was distinguished by a high level of organization and scientific presentation, demonstrating the department’s commitment to enhancing students’ research and guiding them toward adopting analytical engineering thinking mechanisms to address real-world problems.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation and thanks to the scientific and preparatory committees for their efforts in making this academic event a success.
