
Digital National Library Project Using Artificial Intelligence: A Scientific Symposium”
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan al-Gabban, and under the direct supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Khula Salah Khushan, the Technological Incubators and Ecosystem Unit organized a scientific symposium on the project of the “Digital National Library Using Artificial Intelligence.” The symposium was presented by expert Prof. Dr. Ali al-Aasem, residing in London and a contributor to several developments at Apple, and programmer Baydaa Hamid, residing in Germany, and was held in the Civil Engineering Department Hall. The event was attended by a number of Deans, university faculty members, and graduate students.
The symposium aimed to introduce the project of the National Memory using artificial intelligence, a non-profit project that seeks to preserve Iraq’s national history and address the challenges posed by artificial intelligence by building a national memory that preserves Iraq’s history for hundreds of years in both Arabic and Kurdish.
The lecturers discussed how the National Memory project supports the activities of government institutions, national development institutions, universities, and research institutions by providing an Iraqi artificial intelligence platform and archiving scientific research, theses, and dissertations. It also discussed the possibility of utilizing it for scientific citations and facilitating researchers’ access to sources in record time. The symposium included an open discussion session where the audience asked many questions that the lecturers answered in a scientifically accurate manner.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the lecturers by Prof. Dr. Khula Salah, in appreciation and gratitude for their great efforts in serving our beloved country. She expressed her readiness to provide all support to the lecturers to present other seminars that contribute to developing the field of scientific research and transferring and localizing knowledge.
