Environmental Research Center hold a lecture on the health effects of the microscopic environment in hospitals: challenges and solutions

Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology, as part of the activities of the Environmental Research Center’s cultural season, held a scientific lecture entitled “The health effects of the microscopic environment in hospitals: challenges and solutions”, delivered by Lecturer Dr. Imad El-Din Hatem Abdel in the presence of the center’s members.

The lecture dealt with hospital-acquired infections, or what are called healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), which are infections that patients acquire while receiving healthcare and were not present or in the incubation period upon admission to the hospital. These infections are one of the most prominent challenges facing healthcare systems globally, due to their negative impact on patients’ health and increased mortality rates.
