Environmental Research center organizes Golden Jubilee celebration of the University of Technology

The Environmental Research Centre at the University of Technology organized a celebration on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee marking 50 years since the establishment of the University of Technology. The celebration was attended by the Director of the Centre, Professor Dr. Zainab Bahaa Mohammed, along with faculty members and staff of the centre.

The celebration included a diverse range of activities, during which the achievements of the Environmental Research Centre from its establishment in 2004 until 2025 were presented in a poster. The poster included the number of published research papers (709), awards and honours (1679), seminars (225), implemented courses (154), scientific supervision (111), scientific symposia (31), patents (23), workshops (100), contracted projects and environmental impact assessment reports (1522), pioneering projects (12), conferences (5), and conducted laboratory tests (17013). The figures shown in this poster indicate a prolific journey of creativity in terms of quantity and a continuous success story in terms of quality, which resulted from the dedication, sincerity, and serious perseverance of its working staff throughout the past years until now, adding another mark of creativity and excellence to the hallmarks of creativity and excellence of our dear university in its Golden Jubilee.

This creativity and excellence continued by the centre’s working staff through the presentation of various products that included important applications for sustainable agriculture, waste recycling for the preservation of the green environment, handicrafts, and more.

The celebration concluded with the Director of the Centre extending her thanks to the centre’s staff, wishing them success in their work and further brilliance and creativity under the banner of the University of Technology.
