Environmental Research Centre Holds Lecture on the Scourge of Drugs

The Environmental Research Centre, in cooperation with the Quality Unit and the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Technology, held a lecture entitled “Drugs: Their Types and the Most Important Ways to Reduce Their Abuse to Minimize Violence Among Students,” attended by faculty and university staff.

The lecture, delivered by Professor Dr. Shahrzad Mohammed Al-Shadidi, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Baghdad, addressed how to educate society against drugs, especially the youth, who are considered the targeted and threatened group.

She recommended the necessity of identifying the dimensions of the problem through conducting field studies and research, studying community attitudes towards drugs, security studies, and studies related to youth problems and their deviation.
