The Technological University Achieves Third Place Locally and Advances 1,074 Positions Globally in the 2025 Webometrics Ranking
The Technological University has achieved a new academic milestone by securing third place locally among Iraqi universities and 1,823rd place globally according to the Webometrics Ranking for 2025. This marks an improvement of 7 positions locally and 1,074 positions globally compared to the previous year.
This ranking reflects the university’s progress in knowledge dissemination, academic transparency, and research excellence on an international level. Webometrics is one of the largest academic rankings conducted every six months and aims to measure the scientific and research performance of universities worldwide based on various criteria, including:
Visibility: Measured by the number of external links pointing to the university’s online content, reflecting the spread and impact of its scientific output.
Transparency: Based on the number of research citations from the top 310 researchers at the university, enhancing its academic stature.
Research Excellence: Evaluates the number of scientific publications within the top 10% of the most cited global research in the past five years.
Webometrics aims to promote open access to academic knowledge and encourages universities to improve the quality and quantity of their online publications, including scientific research, theses, reports, and any academic content that contributes to global knowledge dissemination.
