Head of Chemical Engineering Department Granted a Patent in Advanced Wastewater Treatment for Oil Refineries
Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sakr, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology, along with a joint research team of academic staff from various institutions, has obtained a patent issued by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control entitled “An Advanced Hybrid Method for Treating Wastewater Discharged from Oil Refineries Using Anodic Oxidation and Photocatalysis with High Efficiency and Low Cost”.
The research team includes Prof. Dr. Hisham Mohamed Majeed from Qadisiyah University, Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Ubar from the University of Baghdad, and expert Dr. Zaidon Khalaf Kareem, Deputy Director of the Petroleum Research and Development Centre.
It should be noted that the patent was granted in accordance with the provisions of Article 21 of the Patent and Industrial Designs Law No. 65 of 1970 as amended.
