Industrial Advisory Board of the College of Chemical Engineering holds a meeting to link curricula to the labor market

College of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held an expanded meeting of the College’s Industrial Advisory Board, chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr.

The meeting included a discussion of the curricula of the three academic departments of the College of Chemical Engineering, in accordance with the Bologna Process curriculum. Prof. Dr. Aswar Abdul Rasoul, Head of the Chemical Processes Department, presented the curricula implemented at the College to experts, in accordance with the scientific objectives and vision of the departments and the College. Ideas and proposals related to the curricula were also exchanged and presented, with the aim of enhancing practical and applied aspects.

The meeting aims to benefit from industrial and production expertise and enhance ongoing cooperation with the labor market, which supports the College’s approach to openness to practical and applied experiences and provides an environment for collaborative work with objectives related to the quality of education, thus strengthening the foundations of the academic reputation of university institutions.

The meeting was attended by the Dean’s Scientific and Administrative Assistants, the heads of the three engineering departments, and a group of college lecturers, in addition to industrial experts Dr. Ahmed Yassin, Advisor to the Parliamentary Energy Committee, Mr. Sadiq Jassim, Director General of the Research and Development Department at the Military Industrialization Authority, Dr. Taha Mahdi from the Karbala Refinery, Dr. Haider Nouri from the Ministry of Industry, Mr. Ali Saber, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, and Engineer Khalifa Awad Kahdim from the Oil Research and Development Center at the Ministry of Oil. In addition to members of the Ministry of Environment and the private sector, the meeting was attended by Mr. Laith, the oil expert.
