A Master’s thesis in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Technology discussed a thesis entitled “An Efficient Load Frequency Control for Multiple Power System Using Intelligent Controller Based on Optimization Algorithm”. The thesis, presented by Omar Qasim Dawoud, focused on the Fractional-Order Proportional-Integral-Derivative (FOPID) controller, which has proven to be more effective in managing uncertainty, rejecting disturbances, and handling nonlinear systems compared to traditional controllers. A fuzzy controller was also employed for comparison and to contribute to tuning the parameters of the traditional PID controller. The analysis results showed the effectiveness of the Fractional-Order Proportional-Integral-Derivative (FOPID) controller based on the Grey Wolf Optimizer algorithm. The thesis examination committee consisted of Prof. Ali Nasser Hussein as chairman, Assoc. Prof. Nadhir Abdul-Reda Shalsh and Lect.Dr. Ikhlas Mahawi Thajil as members, and Lect.Dr.. Mushtaq Najib Ahmed and Assoc. Prof. Dr.Inaam Ibrahim Ali as supervisors.
