Ministerial Committee Visits Electromechanical Engineering College in Preparation for Launching Master’s Program in Oil Equipment Engineering

A committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research conducted an official visit to the College of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology, as part of the evaluation process for establishing a new Master’s program in Oil and Gas Equipment Engineering.

The committee was received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghassan Abdul Hussein Bilal, Dean of the College, along with Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mustafa Mahdi, Head of the Oil and Gas Equipment Engineering Department, and other college council members.

The ministerial delegation included:Prof. Dr. Iyad Abdul Haleem Abdul Razaq (Chair), Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Adel Ismail, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tahseen Hameed Khalif, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Ameer Abdul Nabi

During the visit, the academic staff presented the proposed academic file for the Master’s program, including its objectives, curriculum, available resources, and alignment with the needs of the oil and gas sector and the local and regional job market.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the academic, human, and laboratory capacities required to establish the program in accordance with quality standards and academic accreditation, while ensuring it keeps pace with the latest scientific developments in navigation and control systems.

The committee reviewed all relevant documentation and conducted a field tour of the college’s lecture halls, discussion rooms, library, and specialized laboratories.

In their remarks, the committee praised the high scientific and human resource level within the department, emphasizing the importance of launching such a program to supply the industrial sector with advanced expertise in oil and gas equipment engineering, in line with Iraq’s strategic goals for sustainable development.

At the end of the visit, the College of Electromechanical Engineering awarded the ministerial committee certificates of appreciation.
