On the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Founding of the University of Technology… Minister of Education Expresses Confidence in Specialized Universities in Enhancing Their Global Research and International Partnerships

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, expressed his confidence in specialized universities in enhancing the outcomes of their global research and international partnerships.

This came during the special celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the University of Technology, where the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research emphasized in his speech the importance of activating applied and professional programs in undergraduate and postgraduate studies and moving them from theoretical spaces to the environment of applied scientific research that achieves the philosophy of degrees related to technological specializations. These specializations should address the challenges facing society and leave a clear impact that shortens effort and time in terms of producing solutions and resolving problems and issues that hinder the path of industrial development.

The celebration’s events included a presentation by the Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Abd Dhad, on the higher education strategy in Iraq and the progress of Iraqi universities in light of the achievements made, and a speech by the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza. During the event, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, honored a selection of the university’s pioneers and a number of its former presidents, and inaugurated the University of Technology monument and an exhibition of student projects in the presence of international students
