Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department Organizes a Workshop on Faculty Teaching Portfolio
The Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department at the University of Technology organized a workshop entitled “Faculty Teaching Portfolio and Course Evaluation”. The workshop was attended by Scientific Assistant Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadim Al-Rubaiy, Administrative Assistant Prof. Dr. Ramzi Sayhood Hamid, and a number of faculty members in Akkaz Hall.
The first lecture was delivered by Dr. Anwar Nazem Muhammad Ali, Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Unit. He discussed the completion of the faculty teaching portfolio and achieving continuous academic development by explaining the components of the teaching portfolio and the importance of updating it by faculty members according to the variables and requirements of the current year. He also emphasized the need for new faculty members to prepare a teaching portfolio.
The second lecture was delivered by the branch chair, Asst. Prof. Dr. Emad Abdul Hussein Faakhir, who reviewed the results of the course evaluation for the previous year (2023-2024) for the Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department, which were included in the accreditation report. He explained the details of the scientific evaluation process according to learning outcomes and the process of calculating statistics for the curricula. The teaching portfolio is one of the most important requirements for updating the self-evaluation report and obtaining engineering accreditation.
The workshop concluded with Scientific Assistant Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadim Al-Rubaiy presenting certificates of appreciation to the lecturers in recognition of their outstanding efforts in making the workshop a success
