Quality Assurance Department Implements Emergency Plan and Evacuation Drill at the University of Technology

The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University of Technology implemented a comprehensive emergency plan aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of health and safety practices across the campus.

This initiative is part of the university’s broader strategy to ensure quality and uphold the highest standards of institutional performance.

The plan focused on several key areas, including:  Assessing potential risks across various university facilities, Training academic and administrative staff in rapid emergency response procedures, Upgrading alarm and safety systems in line with national and international standards, and Launching regular awareness campaigns targeting students and staff to promote a culture of health and safety

Dr. Zainab Nasser Jameel, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, emphasized that the plan is a proactive response to the growing challenges facing higher education institutions, especially amid ongoing environmental and societal changes. She affirmed that the safety of students and staff remains a top priority in the university’s policies.

She added that the implementation of this plan will contribute to enhancing institutional accreditation and improving the quality of educational services, aligning with the university’s vision for academic and community excellence.

The workshop was conducted in the Quality Assurance and University Performance building, under the supervision of quality consultant Mr. Majid Ahmed Ali.
