Scientific Team from Chemical Engineering Department Publishes Research in Clarivate Containers on the Production of Nanoscale Air Filters

A scientific team from the Chemical Engineering Department, including MSC candidate Amjad Rasoul Al-Qara Gharly, Dean of the Chemical Engineering Department Professor Dr. Khaled Ajmi Sukkar, and the late Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Mushjal Ali, succeeded in publishing research in Clarivate containers within the journal “Results in Materials” belonging to Elsevier Publishing House.

The research included the preparation of high-quality nanoscale filters made of platinum material loaded on nanoscale graphene and deposited on the surface of a polypropylene filter.

This nanoscale filter is characterized by a high ability to purify air from contaminating microorganisms with high efficiency, as well as removing suspended particles in the air that cause diseases and significant risks to individual health, public health, and the environment. The prepared filter is characterized by good economic feasibility and can be applied in air filters for cooling devices and purification systems to reduce pollution.
