The Civil Engineering Department Organizes a Volunteer Visit to Dar Al-Ataa for the Elderly

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ali Majeed Khudhair, and within the framework of promoting giving and social solidarity, the Civil Engineering Department – Volunteer Work Committee, in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, organized an inspection visit to Dar Al-Ataa for the Elderly, located in the Al-Rashad area of Baghdad, as an important step towards creating a family atmosphere and providing moral support to them.

The visit was attended by the Head and members of the Volunteer Work Committee in the department, along with a number of faculty and administrative staff members from the department, who were accompanied by the Director of the Student Activities Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amin Dhannoon Ahmed.

The visit aimed to identify the needs of the residents of the home, whose number is 95 elderly men and 44 elderly women, to check on their health conditions, and to bring joy to the hearts of our fathers and mothers in the home.

During the visit, some gifts and clothes were presented to the elderly as part of the psychological support for the residents of the home.

The visit concluded with the Director of the Elderly Home expressing his thanks and gratitude for this initiative, requesting its repetition in the future and the provision of psychological and financial support to the elderly in the home.
