
The Department of Biomedical Engineering Honors Women on the Occasion of the University’s Golden Jubilee
As part of the University of Technology’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Department of Biomedical Engineering inaugurated its first event by organizing a special celebration to honor women. This celebration reflects the belief in their essential role in building society and in appreciation of their ongoing contributions, as the creators of generations, the educators of leaders, and the source of unlimited giving.
Professor Dr. Sadiq Mohsen Bakhi, Head of the Department, stated in his speech that honoring women today is not only a tribute to the past, but also an incentive for future generations.
He pointed out that the department works to instill ambition and determination in female students and affiliates to achieve their aspirations.
He emphasized that every woman in this department represents an essential part of the department’s success, wishing it continued success and innovation. The event was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Ziad Qasim Habib, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Mohammed Daoud, and a select group of faculty members from the department. Dr. Enas Saad Mohammed and Professor Dr. Janan Sattar Khashan delivered welcoming remarks, expressing their appreciation for women on this occasion and emphasizing the importance of their role in the academic community.
The attendees emphasized that empowering women empowers society as a whole, given their pivotal roles in education, scientific research, management, leadership, and innovation.
The celebration concluded with a speech by the Head of the Biomechanics Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Mahmoud Ali, on behalf of the department’s faculty members. He praised the efforts of the women working in the department, commending their excellence and creativity.
During the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed to all members of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, in recognition of their active role and distinguished efforts in supporting the educational and scientific process within and outside the department.
