The Department of Computer Engineering organizes a lecture on “The Ethics of Expressing Opinion and Respecting Opposing Views”

The Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Technology, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies – Human Rights Unit, organized a lecture titled “The Ethics of Expressing Opinion and Respecting Opposing Views,” attended by the Academic Assistant of the Computer Engineering Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayman Dawood Salman, as well as faculty members and students of the department in the discussion hall.

The lecture, presented by Dr. Tamara Waheed Abboud, covered the concepts of freedom of expression and the ethics of dialogue, as well as mechanisms for accepting opposing views in academic and professional environments. It emphasized the importance of effective communication and respect for intellectual diversity, highlighting the legal and human rights frameworks related to freedom of opinion and expression.

The lecture concluded with a discussion between the audience and the lecturer, where questions were raised regarding the limits of freedom of expression and its role in fostering an academic environment based on constructive dialogue.
