The Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering organizes a training course on “Fundamentals of Scientific Publishing in Scientific Journals”
As part of the cultural season of the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, the department organized a training course titled “Fundamentals of Scientific Publishing in Scientific Journals” for newly appointed faculty members.
The first day of the course featured a lecture delivered by the department head, Prof. Dr. Fadhel Sarhan Kazem, titled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in the Oil Industry.” The speaker highlighted how artificial intelligence (AI) techniques can be used to develop and improve methods for preparing scientific research in the field of oil and gas. He explained that AI represents a vital tool for enabling researchers to analyze large and complex volumes of oil data, contributing to achieving accurate and reliable results.
Prof. Dr. Fadhel Sarhan emphasized that AI can be utilized in several areas to facilitate scientific research preparation, such as analyzing remote sensing data, modeling and analyzing oil operations, and conducting complex simulations that help understand key patterns and trends in the oil industry. He also pointed out that AI applications provide researchers with the tools necessary to analyze data faster and more accurately, leading to improved research outcomes, reduced costs, and increased effectiveness in oil and gas projects.
At the end of the lecture, Prof. Dr. Fadhel Sarhan stressed the importance of researchers keeping up with these technological developments and using AI to innovate new solutions that contribute to advancing scientific research and the development of the oil industry.
