
The University of Technology President Receives the University Team that obtain Second Place in the “Shababik” Program
Electrical Engineering Department, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division at the University of Technology, held a workshop on public employee rights and duties under Iraqi law. The workshop was attended by the Administrative Deputy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, and a number of faculty members, staff of the department and the university. The workshop was held in Al-Furat Hall of the department.
The lecture delivered by Lec. Dr. Haider Hassan Ali, addressed the rights of public employees, including their right to receive a salary and all types of leave, and the extent to which this is consistent with the governing principle of administrative law. It also addressed the public employee duties under the State and Public Sector Employees Discipline Law No. 14 of 1991 (as amended).
It also addressed how to deal with citizens, students, colleagues, and superiors, the need to work with dedication and responsibility, maintain the dignity of the job, and preserve the confidentiality of documents and information.
The importance of holding this workshop lies in its purpose of raising awareness among employees in general, and new hires in particular, about the regulations and laws and the rights and duties that arise therefrom. It contributes to creating a capable, professional generation equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience.
At the conclusion, the floor was opened for discussion and questions, followed by the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the workshop organizer.
