Training and Laboratories Center Organizes a Workshop on Key Laws Protecting Women and Children in Iraqi Law

The Training and Laboratories Center at the University of Technology, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized a workshop titled “Key Laws Enacted to Protect Women and Children in Iraqi Law.”

The lecture for the workshop was delivered by Dr. Noor Saad Al-Mawla, a faculty member at the College of Law and Political Science at the Iraqi University.

The workshop covered several important topics, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the CEDAW Convention, which prohibits all forms of discrimination against women and children. It also discussed the position of the 2005 Iraqi Constitution, which, according to Articles (29, 30, 22, 37, 49), acknowledges human rights, including the rights of women and children. The workshop also reviewed key Iraqi laws concerning the rights of women and children, such as the Personal Status Law No. (188) of 1959.

The workshop concluded with Assistant Professor Dr. Samira Saadi Shajar, Head of the Training Department, presenting a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her efforts.
