
University of Technology Holds Exhibition to Support Iraqi Industry in Cooperation with Ministry of Industry and Minerals
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, the university, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, held an exhibition to support Iraqi industry at the University of Technology from February 23 to 25, 2025, in the hall of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Batal, the President of the Technological University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, the University President’s Assistants for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, and Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Farhad Muhammad Othman, general managers, heads of departments, faculty members, and guests from the Ministry of Industry.
The ceremony was opened with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq.
A documentary film about the University of Technology, prepared by the Department of Media and Government Communication at the University, was screened.
Al-Ghabban, representing His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, delivered a speech in which he said: “This exhibition comes within the framework of our university’s mission to support development in Iraq by promoting innovation and technology and linking it to the needs of the industrial sector.” He added: “We thank His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Minerals for his continuous support of the industrial sector, as our university has 18 industrial advisory councils at the level of scientific departments and research centers that work to strengthen the partnership between the university and the industrial sector, and we are proud of our cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, which was embodied in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of scientific research, developing human cadres, and transferring modern technology to serve the Iraqi industry.”
Al-Ghabban added: “At the University of Technology, we believe that our role is not limited to academic education, but extends to serving society and supporting the national economy. Through this exhibition, we aim to strengthen the partnership between the university and the industrial sector, provide opportunities for students to learn about the requirements of the labor market, and encourage them to innovate and be creative.”
Al-Ghabban presented the university’s shield to His Excellency the Minister of Industry, Dr. Khaled Al-Batal. After that, everyone went to open the exhibition to support Iraqi industry at the university, which included pavilions for Iraqi industries, including the General Company for Horses, the General Company for Mining Industries, the General Company for the Sulfur of Mishraq, the General Company for the Northern Fertilizer Industry, the General Company for the Southern Fertilizer Industry, the General Company for the Manufacture of Medicines and Medical Supplies Samarra Iraq, and pavilions from the University of Technology, such as Biomedical Engineering, the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, and the Department of Control and Systems Engineering.
