University of Technology Holds Second Edition of the “Three-Minute Thesis” Competition

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Al-Khashan, the University of Technology organized the second edition of the “Three-Minute Thesis” competition. The event was managed by the university’s Department of Scientific Affairs, with the presence of its director, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hassan.

Twenty-three candidates from ten different colleges participated at the intermediate stage of the competition, which took place in the hall of the College of Computer Engineering. Each participant presented their research within a three-minute time frame, highlighting the research process, objectives, and key findings.

A scientific committee composed of five professors from various disciplines at the university—namely, Dr. Mohammed Moayed Taha, Dr. Iyad Jawad Mohammed Jawad, Dr. Harith Youssef Issa, Dr. Bushra Abdullah Majid, and Dr. Mohammed Obaid Mohammed—evaluated the presentations based on criteria set by the committee. These included the clarity and impact of the research outcomes and conclusions, contributions to knowledge, creativity and innovation, and effective use of time.

As a result, ten candidates were selected to advance to the final stage of the competition.

It is worth noting that all participants received certificates of participation in recognition of their scientific efforts and involvement in the competition.
