University of Technology Organizes a Scientific Symposium on the Role of Afforestation in Reducing Environmental Pollution

Under the patronage of the President of University of Technology, Professor Mohsen Nouri Hamza, and under the supervision of the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Professor Alaa Abdul Hadi Jabr.

As part of the University of Technology’s efforts to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices, the department organized a scientific symposium entitled “The Role of Afforestation in Reducing Environmental Pollution.” The symposium was attended by a number of faculty members, researchers, and students interested in the topic.

The symposium presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sahira Hassan Ibrahim, Asst. Prof. Dr.  Iqbal Naji Saeed, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Imad Sadiq, addressed the importance of afforestation as a practical and effective solution to combat environmental pollution, its role in improving air quality, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing environmental balance in urban cities.

The lecturers addressed the latest studies and research in this field, in addition to discussing strategies for promoting afforestation in urban and industrial environments.

A number of relevant environmental issues were discussed during the symposium, emphasizing the need to intensify efforts to spread the culture of afforestation and promote environmental initiatives within and outside the university.
