
University of Technology Participates in Ministerial Training Program on Technology Incubators
The University of Technology took part in a specialized training program on technology incubators, organized by the Research and Development Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was hosted at the University of Baghdad under the title:
“Innovation Management to Enhance Business Incubators and Science & Technology Parks in Universities”,
and was held under the patronage of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, with the attendance of Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abed Dhahad, and Director General of the Research and Development Department, Prof. Dr. Lubna Khamis, along with university representatives and a group of expert professors from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The workshop aimed to enhance the strategic leadership skills of technology incubator managers, showcase successful global best practices, support entrepreneurship and startups, and strengthen the relationship between universities and industrial enterprises.
The program included intensive training sessions that concluded on Thursday, May 29, 2025, delivered by experts from Iran. These sessions focused on the operational mechanisms of technology incubators, as well as promoting innovation and entrepreneurial concepts within the academic environment.
The University of Technology’s delegation included: Dr. Manal Abdulwahid Aboud, Head of the Technology Incubators and Ecosystem Division, Dr. Qusay Fadel, Head of the Technology Incubator Unit in the College of Control and Systems Engineering, Dr. Saeed Redha, from the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Diaa Mohammed Abd, from the Department of Biomedical Engineering
This participation reflects the University of Technology’s ongoing efforts to develop its innovation ecosystem, support entrepreneurial initiatives, and contribute to enhancing the innovation framework across Iraqi universities.
